Live a Happy Life

When you want to live a better life and be happy, you have to learn what happiness is.  Sometimes, it feels that happiness is out of your reach and that you will never quite reach it.

When you are a kid, you will think that growing up and going to college or getting married will bring you happiness.  Each time you reach a goal, you expect to be happy.

The problem is all of these things do not bring true happiness.  To be really happy, you have to find out what being happy means to you.  You cannot base your happiness on what you do, where you go, what kind of job you have, who you marry, who your family is or any of those things.

You have to have goals and an idea where you want to go in your life, but happiness should not be based around these things.  Happiness isn’t something that you go after, it is already there, you just have to find it.

Let Go

One of the first things that you need to do in order to be happy is learned to let go and stop trying to control everything.  You cannot control what happens in your life and this is necessary for you to know to be happy.

Pleasing Everyone

You have to know that everyone is not always pleased.  Trying to please everyone can just bring you stress and take away from who you are.  Let yourself be happy first and then you will work on everyone else.

Entitled

Stop thinking that you are entitled to everything in life.  Everyone gets joy and sadness and you will go through these things as well.

Resentment

Stop holding on to hate and resentment.  Let go of hurt and let yourself heal.

Guilt

Stop carrying around guilt.  You have to forgive yourself for the mistakes that you have made.  We all make mistakes.  Say you are sorry and move on.

Prideful

Stop being prideful because you cannot forgive and move on when you are full of pride.

Perfection

No one is perfect and each thing that life gives you is a chance to do your best.  You have to do what you can, but you will mess up and you do have flaws.  You are perfect for who you are.

Negative

Stop letting people make you feel negative about things and yourself.  Look at the wrong things and know what is right and stop complaining all the time.

Relationships

Move away from relationships that are negative.  Free yourself form people in your life that bring you down.

Stop Being Busy

Allow yourself some free time.  Allow yourself a day of rest and stop being so busy.  Busyness does not equal happiness.

Money

Money is needed to meet our basic needs, but life is not just about money.  Save some money but do not overly work so that you can get rich.

Future

Don’t be afraid of what the future holds.  Be happy with whatever comes your way and learn to work through everything in life.  Work hard and try to have a better future.

Fear

Don’t be afraid of failure.  Everyone messes up and makes mistakes and this is a part of life.  Failure means that you gave up so don’t ever give up.

Abandonment

Don’t let the fear of abandonment hold you back.  We all want to be connected to someone but if it doesn’t work out, move on and let things be okay.

Comparing

Stop comparing yourself to everyone else.  You are who you are, and they are who they are.  You have to see yourself happy and let go of the negative things.

Fixed Expectations

We all have expectations in our lives, and we expect things to work out a certain way.  Even if we expect it, don’t let it cause you to give up on happiness if it doesn’t happen.

Let Go of the Past

Finally, the last thing you can do to be happy is to let go of the past.  You have to let go of baggage of the past and look towards the future.  When you find that your past has brought you down, look up and know that there are better days in the future.

Letting go of something that has hurt you or caused you pain can be freedom for you.  Let the freedom come and let go of things that have hurt you and caused you pain in your life.  Learn to be happy.
